The NTLA would like to thank all the buyers and sellers who participated in the Valentine All Female Sale. The cattle numbers were up from last year and the prices were down from last year. The prices were not bad considering the economy. Thanks to all who contributed to make the sale a success.
Bill Harwager from Holstein, NE bought the high selling animal which was the Reserve Champion Heifer for $1010. Volume buyer was Laurie Chauncey from Mission, SD. Overall average was $463 compared to last years $750. There were some first time buyers and it's always good to see new faces. Thanks for your support.
The NTLA would like to thank the judges, Harlin and Lori Walker, Wall, SD, for doing a great job. We would also like to thank auctioneer, Bill Sayre, for helping us out again this year. Thanks to Shawn Sayre for helping us out again!!
The raffle calf, donated by Shawn and Nicole Huffman, Burwell, NE, was won by Dick Robbins, Belvidere, KS. He sold it back donating the money to the New York Firemen. The second prize of $200 was won by Joy Bollock, Mitchell, SD. The third prize was won by Guy Jarvi, Webster, MN. The fourth prize was won by Carole Frazier, Cozad, NE. A record number of raffle tickets were sold this year, thanks to all who helped out. An especially big thanks to the youth that sold big bunches of tickets this year: Chris Barnard, Ben Barnard, Darcy Huffman, Brooke Huffman, Taylor Sherwood, Joe McCutchan, Ridge Schutte, Becky Allen and Chelsey Damrow! You kids are terrific. Extra tickets were made during the last few weeks and hours of the sale because of the high ticket sales this year. Thanks to all the adults who bought and sold.
The silent auction was very successful this year. It brought in over $850 for the Association. Awesome!! Thanks to Karen Harwager, Judy Walton and Kori Walton for all your help with the auction! Thanks to all who donated items and to all who helped support the NTLA by bidding.
