Longhorn Sale & Festival Best Yet In Indian Territory
The Sixth Annual Festival of Waaka Lapish Faloha (Cow Horn Long) was the best yet in all categories.

We had 132 cataloged lots that sold for an average of $863.79 per lot. That is an average comparable with any longhorn sale across the country.

Freeman Livestock Auction barn was filled with prospective buyers and we had 98 buyers from 10 different states sign up. There were 51 active buyers from 8 different states that purchased the 132 lots.

High selling cow, “Cooper’s Lil’ Whirlwind” consigned by Ray Cooper, Winona, TX was purchased by Joe Valentine of Panther Creek Ranch for $5500. Her bull calf sold for $500. Congratulations Ray. The 2nd high selling cow was Ed Jeffcoat’s “Wichita Red”, she was purchased by Kay Roush, A Splash of Color Longhorns, for $2300. Her heifer calf was split in the ring and earned $600. The high selling pair, Watson 377 & heifer calf consigned by Wes Watson went for a high bid of $4900 by Joe Valentine. Luke Rutledge consigned the 2nd high selling pair, GF Hannah Hitter, they sold to A Splash of Color Longhorns (Kay Roush) for $3100.

The Volume buyers were Don Doak of Cleburne, Texas and the Carroll Ranch of Ardmore, OK with thirteen lots each. The top five lots averaged $3440, top 10 $2715.

ITTLA Sales Team Brings Home $ $ $ Our sales team, Colonel Eddie Wood, auctioneer, Dale Hunt and Wesley Watson reading pedigrees along with Jim Curry and Jim Roberts taking bids did an excellent job of quickly and easily working their way through the cattle. They did the best possible for both consignors and buyers. Of course the ITTLA membership did their usual outstanding job in all areas.

The Longhorn Social poolside in the Chickasaw Lodge began our festival on a high note, thanks to all that participated.

Wellspring Cattle Co. Dispersal There were also 22 lots sold following the ITTLA Sale of Will Miltimore’s Wellspring Cattle Co. It was a complete dispersal sale due to Will’s failing health. Will, a life charter member of ITTLA, was one of the drovers on the 1995 Longhorn Cattle drive from Fort Worth, Texas to Miles City, Montana.
