Our program is focused around 2 incredible bulls, El Presidente and JP Rio Grande. In the past, Overwhelming Icon (full brother to Overlyn) and
A I ing to top bulls in the industry like VJ Tommie, Temptations the Ace, DH Red Ranger, Boomerang, The Shadow, Senator, etc, were our primary ways of improving our program.
We believe for our breeding program to be leading edge, we must be focused around great bulls. Great cows, without superior bulls, is like a new truck without the engine, pretty slow going, if you know what I mean!
Hubbell's Miss Judy, full sister to Gunsmoke!
El Presidente is a powerful combination of the two greatest horn producing bulls of all time, Phenomenon and Emperor. His dam, Whelm me, is a full sister to Emperor. She has 65 T2T" and 83" total horn. Whelm me is a beautiful cow with big horns, wonderful color, and perfect conformation, exactly what we want our cows to look like. I believe a bull will produce daughters similar to his dam. El Presidente's sire, Phenonmeon, is a legend in the breed, for producing daughters and sons alike.
JP Rio Grande is the most exciting bull to hit the Longhorn industry. Rio Grande took the Horn Showcase by storm with 62 1/4" T2T at 24 months old exactly. Never has a bull had that much horn at such a young age! What makes Rio Grande more than just a great horn measurement is his genetics. Rio Grande's sire, JR Grand Slam, son of Gunman, was the greatest horn producing bull in today's era, especially considering the small number of cows he bred with before his death. Rio Grande's Dam is a superior cow with
75 1/2" T2T. She is also a 2 time Horn Showcase winner. TX W Lucky Lady is out Lamb's Power Play (Phenomenon son) and TX W Rose Bud, another knock out cow. Rio Grande is Faultless from head to tail. Dave and Sheila Hovingh of Sun Down Ranch are partners with me on both of these Great bulls. Bob and Pam Loomis of Marietta, OK recently purchased a 1/3 interest of Rio Grande in fall 2005. Rio will spend his summers in Michigan and winters in Oklahoma, what a life!
Semen is avilable on both bulls at $100.00 per straw for El Presidente, and $250 per straw for Rio Grande, with a 5 straw minimum please.

67 3/4 inches tip to tip and 76 inches total horn.
She is a big cow, weighing in at 1200 pounds. On 9/3/04 she measured 69 3/4 inches. Shadow Kay has a beautiful heifer at side by Overwhelming Icon. AI'd to V.J. Tommie for 2005.

Win Me Over

Win Me Over is the nicest Winchester daughter I have seen. She is just like Winchester from horn to color. She measured 50 inches tip to tip on 8/14/04. She has a beautiful heifer calf at side by Jay Chex, a straight Butler bull from Bob Loomis. Win Me Over's dam is a full sister to Sentor. Darrell Dickenson said she has the most total horn of any cow on the ranch. Winchester has 69 inches tip to tip. Win Me Over is bred to El Presidente for 2005.

BL Cameo

BL Cameo Tari is a beautiful 2 year old heifer with 56 inches T2T on 9/25/04. She won the horn measuring contest at the G-LTLA 2004 show in Michigan. We think she is one of the best bred cows in the breed with VJ Tommie, Tari Graves, & Circle K Donovan. Cameo Tari is bred to DH Red Ranger for 2005 calf. She has a 2004 heifer calf out of EJ Saltan a BL Night Chex son owned by Dave Hovingh.
