Welcome to the Bar J.L. Ranch. Our Ranch is located in southwest Utah, near three of the nation's most beautiful national parks, Bryce Canyon National Park, Zion Nation Park, and the Grand Canyon. We have been breeding Texas Longhorn Cattle since 1995. Our goal is to raise Bar J L Ranch - Texas Longhorn cattle that can adapt to any type of weather and pasture conditions. During long years of neglect from man, the Texas Longhorn breed practiced its own system of natural selection. Only the strongest cattle survived. Only those which could handle the droughts, the floods and the blizzards, those which could utilize the forage available and still raise a live, healthy calf, those with sound feet and legs that enabled them to walk miles to water and to breed and those with adequate horns to protect themselves not only survived, but thrived. Modern cattlemen can take advantage of these same characteristics which still exist in this unique breed today.
We at Bar JL Ranch are working to increase horn length to make a more appealing front pasture show cow, as well as maintaining the milking and Bar J L Ranch - Texas Longhorn mothering traits that are needed in the wide open country. We have used and still own some of the best bulls in the Texas Longhorn breed which complement a selection of great cows that we have imported from all over the United States.
The coffee pot is always on and the gate is always open. Come by anytime. We love to talk TEXAS LONGHORN CATTLE!
